V26-769 : GORLESTON ROAD SCHOOL SITE, LOWESTOFT

The revised report of the Director of Housing and Environmental Services was circulated at the meeting. The report advised that the site was suitable for the development of five or six one- bedroomed bungalows, with a market value of the site in the region of £50k. The site could be offered for sale on the open market or disposed of at nil value to a Housing Association to reduce the amount of Social Housing Grant needed.

RESOLVED

1. That the old school site at Gorleston Road, Lowestoft be offered on the open market for a three month period commencing 15 October 1998.

2. That should the site fail to be sold during that time, the Director of Central Services be given delegated authority to dispose of the site to either Orwell or Broadland Housing Association at nil value, dependant upon which Association puts forward the most appropriate and cost effective scheme.
