V26-767 : REVIEW OF STREET TRADING
The report of the Director of Housing and Environmental Services outlined the existing arrangements for the control of Street Trading within Waveney District. The Director proposed the introduction of a system of Street Trading licensing in addition to the existing controls, which it was felt would give more flexibility and prevent certain traders 'cherry-picking' the best days.
A further detailed report on progress and the identification of key streets would be brought to an early meeting of the Committee for consideration of details. Members asked that any concerns over charity stalls be addressed in the report.
RESOLVED
That approval in principle be given to the introduction of a new system of Street Trading controls within the district, to include licensed streets, in addition to the existing prohibited streets and consent streets.
