V26-760 : RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT OFF HIGH STREET, KESSINGLAND

AFFORDABLE HOUSING PROVISION

The report of the Director of Housing and Environmental Services informed members that an element of affordable housing provision had been negotiated at the above site, in accordance with Planning Policy Guidance Note 3.

The developer was adamant that he would not have rented housing on the site, and would only accept Shared Ownership or a Commuted Sum in lieu of the housing provision. The Chief Executive was of the opinion that the wording of the Section 106 Agreement allowed the Council to determine the type of affordable housing provision.

RESOLVED

That in accordance with adopted policy, the Director of Housing and Environmental Services be given delegated authority to decide the most appropriate form of affordable housing provision, at the development on land off the High Street, Kessingland.
