V26-753 : HOUSING REPAIRS EXPENDITURE

The report of the Director of Housing and Environmental Services detailed the latest position on jobbing repairs and voids, and servicing, repair and replacement expenditure and a projected underspend in comparison to the budget. The Director considered that the position to some extent reflected the value of past policies such as those on replacement gas boilers.

However, as with the previous item, the Director of Housing and Environmental Services would be looking at options to be added to address any possible underspend. Members suggestions on rotted gateposts and dangerous landings were noted and with others would be included with other suggestions in a report to the next meeting of the Sub-Committee. The Chairman of Housing and Environmental Services, whilst welcoming the possibilities of work being brought forward, reminded members to be cautious in view of the opposite scenario in a recent year.

That the report on Housing Repairs expenditure be received.
