V26-75 : GROUNDS MAINTENANCE SERVICE - ANNUAL REPORT
The report of the Director of Community Services summarised the operation and achievements of the Grounds Maintenance Service during 1997/98 and set out initiatives for improving the service.
Members suggested that the reducing number of sites for commemorative trees mentioned at paragraph 2.2 of the report be addressed by the introduction of a scheme to adopt existing established trees. Arising from a discussion on vandalism, the Director of Community Services would prepare a report on the possible extension of the CCTV service to include the like of Kensington Gardens.
The Community Services Committee was also to consider this report at its meeting on 21 May 1998.
RESOLVED

2. That the employees in the Contracts Management Section, Community Services Department and Waveney Contract Services be congratulated on the standards of service provided.
