V26-746 : MINOR PROJECT CAPITAL GRANT - HOMERSFIELD

The report of the Director of Community Services advised that Homersfield Parish Council was seeking to acquire and manage a piece of land known as Church Wood for the benefit of the local community. The wood had been neglected and needed some replanting and improvement work on access and amenities.
In addition to raising £1,200, the Parish Council was seeking £3,535 from the European Regional Development Fund and £1,335 from the Rural Development Commission. The Parish Council was requesting a grant of £1,000 from the District Council, which would complete the funding package to a total of £7,070.

It was proposed that a grant of £1,000 be offered toward this project on the condition that the full funding package was achieved. The grant would become payable in the normal way upon the completion of the project.

RESOLVED

That a grant of £1000 be made to Homersfield Parish Council towards the purchase and improvement of Church Wood, Homersfield, to be met from the Minor Projects Capital Fund, subject to the full funding package being achieved.
