V26-744 : SALE OF MINOR OPEN SPACES IN LOWESTOFT

The report of the Director of Community Services concerned two small open spaces within Lowestoft which had recently caused problems. These were located adjacent to 16 Cathcart Street, and the open space behind 2-8 Buttercup Close.

The Local Plan Policy of the Council was to resist the disposal of open spaces, due to shortage in its provision. However, these particular open spaces had very low amenity value and their disposal would decrease officer time in having to deal with problems.

RESOLVED

1. That the disposal of the open spaces at Cathcart Street and Buttercup Close, Lowestoft, be approved.

2. That the Director of Central Services negotiate with adjacent householders of the two open spaces to complete the sale of the land.
