V26-742 : COASTAL ISSUES SPECIAL INTEREST GROUP

The report of the Director of Community Services reminded members that the Council had membership of the Local Government Association's (LGA) Coastal Issues Special Interest Group, which received no funding from the LGA towards seminars or project work.

At the recent meeting of the officers group the idea was mooted that each member authority of the group should contribute £200 towards a working fund, The proposal would be put to the next full meeting of the Special Interest Group on 16 October 1998. In anticipation of the group accepting the proposal, members were recommended to approve a contribution of this amount, which would be met from existing budgets,

RESOLVED

That should the Coastal Issues Special Interest Group of the Local Government Association decide to establish a working fund, a contribution of £200 be made, to be met from existing budgets.
