V26-690 : ENGLISH PARTNERSHIPS - INVESTMENT STRATEGY
The report of the Chief Executive set out the potential for a joint investment strategy for the town of Lowestoft involving English Partnership, who had a key role as a Government Agency in returning brownfield under-utilised or derelict sites into productive use. English Partnerships had drawn up strategies in partnership with Councils for other urban areas in the Midlands, and had approached the Council to assess interest in replicating such an approach locally.
RECOMMENDED
1. That the proposed English Partnerships Investment Strategy for Central Lowestoft be supported with a financial contribution of upto £2,500, to be met from the Employment Generation Fund.
2. That Suffolk County Council be asked to sponsor the project as part of their commitment to the Lowestoft Partnership.
