Application for erection of boundary fence.

The report of the Director of Planning and Building Control concerned the above retrospective application for a fence which the applicant stated had replaced a rusted chainlink fence. The wood of the fence had been pressure treated green, but remained light in colour and formed an intrusive feature in the street scene. The applicant had indicated an intention to plant a border outside the fence and to stain it in the interim, and on this basis the Director recommended delegated authority to approve.

Members were happy to grant approval subject to simply staining the fence a darker colour.

RESOLVED

That the Director of Planning and Building Control be given delegated authority to grant planning permission to application W14487/1, with the fence being stained a dark colour.
