Application for erection of detached brick garage.

The report of the Director of Planning and Building Control considered the above proposal for a detached garage set within the rear garden/parking area serving the Pier Hotel. The proposal would result in the loss of three parking spaces and would have no adverse impact on neighbouring properties. However, the proposal would considerably reduce the canopy and cut into the root spread of a medium sized willow tree which was of amenity value in the conservation area, and this, coupled with the loss of hotel parking, led the Director to recommend refusal.
RESOLVED

That planning permission be refused to application W11421/10.
