V26-527 : TENANTS' ASSOCIATION REQUESTS TO ERECT SEATS AND FLOWER BEDS
The report of the Director of Housing and Environmental Services outlined two requests from tenants associations for the erection of the above.
The Roman Hill Tenants and Residents Association had asked for a seat to be erected at the corner of St Peters Street and Minden Road in memory of the late Councillor Peter Hunt, which would be funded by the Association.
The Beccles Tenants and Residents Association had asked for a seat and raised flower bed at Clerks Piece. Again the Association would be raising funds for the project. The Director of Central Services confirmed that further seats would have little impact upon the Council's public liability insurance.
RESOLVED
1. That the erection of a seat at the corner of St Peters Street and Minden Road, Lowestoft in memory of Councillor Peter Hunt be approved.
2. That the erection of a seat and flower bed at Clerks Piece, Beccles be approved, subject to the flower bed being of a raised and not walled construction.
3. That the Housing and Environmental Services Department have input to the placing and design of the above, and inspect the areas periodically.
