V26-508 : SHORELINE MANAGEMENT PLANS FOR THE WAVENEY COASTLINE

The report of the Director of Community Services summarised progress to date with the Shoreline Management Planning (SMP) and identified future development issues. The two strategic SMP studies covering the Waveney coastline had been completed and the implementation of adopted management policies was the next phase of the process.

The report noted that declared management policies requiring intervention, which were developed under strategic assessment techniques, were not certain to be confirmed as worthy of central government grant aid under project specific analysis.

RESOLVED

1. That the management policy statements for Waveney's coastline, contained within SMP Reports 3B and 3C, be adopted as a basis for implementation.

2. That capital, maintenance and further study programmes be developed on this basis.
