V26-499 : WEIGHT RESTRICTIONS IN OULTON
The report of the Director of Community Services outlined consideration to be given to proposals such as weight restrictions on the existing A1117 in Oulton upon completion of phases 3 and 4 of the Lowestoft Northern Spine Road. Local consultations were proposed and the formation of a Working Party to consider responses.
Ward members welcomed the initiative and asked for congratulations to be passed onto Messrs. Breheny and the County Council for the excellent signage already in the area, directing works traffic to the site and away from inappropriate other access. RESOLVED
1. That the Director of Community Services consult with local businesses, Parish Councils and interested organisations on the options for weight restrictions in the Oulton area. 2. That a Working Party be established to consider responses to the consultation. 3. That the Chairman of the Committee, Ward members Councillors Hunter and Lewars, and Councillors Cherry and Young be appointed to the Working Party, and attendance be authorised as an approved duty.
4. That upon completion of the Working Party's consideration of the responses, the Director of Community Services, in consultation with the Chairman, be given delegated authority to advertise a Traffic Regulation Order accordingly.
