Application for the siting of a mobile home and erection of a storage barn.

The recommendation of the Director of Planning and Building Control was for refusal; there had been a consistent firm policy against residential use on the site and there seemed no business case to justify approval. The applicant's explanation and justification for a regular on site presence was read out in full by the Director. The applicant had also suggested an amended siting for the mobile home which was more inconspicuous. The observation of the Parish Council was for approval on a temporary basis, as there were 16 horses on the site.

Generally, the Sub-Committee felt the circumstances of this case should allow approval, albeit for a temporary period of two years and with appropriate screening. The Director was happy that approval for a temporary home would not require a decision by the Planning and Transportation Committee.

RESOLVED

That planning permission be granted to an amended application W9347/7, temporary for two years, with a revised siting for the mobile home and appropriate screening.
