V26-443 : MANOR FARM, BECKS GREEN, ILKETSHALL ST ANDREW
HEDGEROW RETENTION
The report of the Director of Planning and Building Control was considered as a matter of urgency, under the statutory provision accorded to the Chairman, as there were no delegated powers allowing officers to deal with the matter in the timescale permitted under the regulations.
The report concerned two hedges at the above. Suggestions were that the field pattern they followed were quite ancient and that one of the hedges may even follow the line of a Roman road. The hedges did not appear to support much wildlife, and were essentially of historic value. A response concerning whether or not the hedges formed part of an ancient field system was awaited.
RESOLVED
That in the event of either of the hedges at Manor Farm, Becks Green, Ilketshall St Andrew being discovered to be part of an ancient field system, the Chief Executive be authorised to serve a hedgerow retention notice.
The meeting was concluded at 10.25 pm.
