V26-425 : W11077/9 - LONGACRE, WANGFORD ROAD, REYDON
Application to construct eight dwellings with garages.
The Director of Planning and Building Control reported that the above site, which was subject to a Tree Preservation Order, had existing permission for eight bungalows and garages and an earlier permission for 30 retirement homes and car parking. The current application was for four two-storey and four single storey dwellings, with the same access as the previous applications. It was felt that due to the density of tree cover there would be minimal overlooking to the adjacent land, and with no windows in the end gables there would be no loss of privacy, although two objections had been received. The Landscape Adviser had advised that most of the trees to be removed were in poor condition, but was concerned that a holly be retained, and the applicant had agreed to replant it. The applicant had also moved House no. 5 forward away from the trees. The Director recommended approval subject to protection of trees, footpath and re-siting of one property away from the trees.
RESOLVED
That planning permission be granted to application 11077/9, subject to protection of trees, footpath and re-siting of one property away from the trees.
