Application for extension to doctors surgery.

The Director of Planning and Building Control reported that the existing doctors surgery was opened in January 1996 as Phase 1 of the development, and it was intended that Phase 2, incorporating seven new consulting and treatment rooms, would take place when resources allowed. This application was for Phase 2 and in design terms the building would compliment the existing design and be unobtrusive in the landscape. Adequate car parking spaces had been provided, well screened by existing planting, and the Director recommended approval.

Members concurred with that view, but were concerned that the views of the Drainage Authority were not yet before them and were minded to delegate approval to the Director subject to the Drainage Authority comments being satisfactory. If this was not the case, the matter would be brought back before members.

RESOLVED

That the Director of Planning and Building Control be given delegated authority to grant planning permission to application W5837/10, subject to the comments of the Drainage Authority being satisfactory.
