V26-398 : DELEGATED POWERS FOR ENFORCEMENT PURPOSES
The report of the Director of Housing and Environmental Services outlined the need for general delegated authority in connection with enforcement matters that arose from the introduction of new legislation, as there was insufficient provision within the current authority.
RESOLVED
1. That pursuant to Section 101 of The Local Government Act 1972, The Director of Housing and Environmental Services and the Head of Environmental Services be given delegated authority as follows:
(a) to authorise in writing such postholders as appear necessary to him to exercise the powers of entry, inspection and such other powers specified in legislation from time to time in force and enforced by the Department, for the duration of their employment or such temporary period as may be required
(b) to appoint such persons or agents to act on the Council's behalf where such legislation so requires
(c) to sign and issue on the Council's behalf such documents, including notices, as are required by such legislation to secure its enforcement, and to authorise such other postholders as appear necessary to him to do likewise.
