V26-37 : W11046/2 - LAND OFF LONDON ROAD, BECCLES
Application for the construction of 78 bungalows, garages and associated works. The Sub-Committee considered the report of the Director of Planning and Building Control which examined the merits of the above application. The proposed development would not unduly affect the amenities of the surrounding area, the overall layout was acceptable, and it conformed with the relevant Local Plan policies; he recommended approval. The observation of the Town Council was for approval, subject to the density ration and criteria for drainage being met and approved by the Council and Anglian Water. Other concerns had been raised about drainage issues, and the Director made reference to a letter from Anglia Water appended to his report confirming that the developers proposals would improve the existing problems for residents in Kemps Lane.
The Director also reported that the levels of several bungalows would alter due to the rejig of the road, and he suggested that a condition be made that these levels be submitted before commencement of development.
The Director of Housing and Environmental Services had requested that one dwelling be shared ownership and two dwellings be of mobility standard.
RESOLVED
That planning permission be granted to application W11046/2, subject to the imposition of appropriate condition and the successful completion of a Section 106 Agreement covering play equipment.
