V26-354 : BECCLES SPORTS GROUND LOTTERY BID
The report of the Director of Community Services advised that an application for grant assistance to the English Sports Council in respect of the above facility was submitted in September 1997.
The success of the application was dependant on increasing participation through sports development initiatives provided by the various sports clubs, but there had been a reluctance by them to detail the proposals in writing. The Director, in consultation with the Chairman, therefore advised the sports clubs that unless they produced a sports development programme detailing their future plans it was very unlikely that funding would be secured.
RESOLVED
That the action of the Director of Community Services, in consultation with the Chairman, in advising the sports clubs to produce a sports development programme as part of the Beccles Sports Ground lottery bid, be confirmed.
