V26-31 : W17031 - 15 AND 17 WISSETT WAY, LOWESTOFT

Application for erection of a six foot high perimeter fence.

The Director of Planning and Building Control reported that this proposal to fence in a strip of land between the applicant's house and a public footpath would result in a tunnelling effect and loss of amenity space contrary to Policy OS1 of the Local Plan.

Members understood that the applicant would want to fence off his land, but felt that a six foot high fence was too much and that a one metre high fence would be appropriate on the site, otherwise the proposal should be refused.

RESOLVED

That the Director of Planning and Building Control be given delegated authority to grant planning permission to an amended application W17031, with a one metre high fence and removal of permitted development rights.
