V26-307 : ENTERPRISE 2000 SCHEME - UPDATE

The report of the Chief Executive reminded members that at minute V25-1658 the Sub- Committee approved a budget of £20,000 for the new Enterprise 2000 scheme for 1998/99, and updated on consultations with partners in the scheme.

The management role would now be taken by Norfolk County Council, with Lowestoft Enterprise Trust sub-contracting the work from them, and the County would be putting in applications for additional funding for the scheme from the Rural Development Commission and the European Regional Development Fund. Those applications for funding would demand a commitment of partner funds over a three year period, as matching funding from partners must be in place before the bids would be considered.

RECOMMENDED

That a budget of £20,000 per year for 1999/2000 and 2000/01 for the Enterprise 2000 Scheme be approved.
