V26-299 : OBJECTIVE 5B TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE
The report of the Chief Executive explained that following negotiations between the Government Office for the Eastern Region (GOER) and the European Commission, posts such as the jointly funded Economic Projects Officer could be funded from the Technical Assistance measure in the Objective 5b programme.
With the agreement of the County Council, a bid amounting to £18,000 was submitted to GOER based on 60% of the officer's time being spent on eligible Objective 5b duties, to cover the period up to February 2000 and backdated eligible costs.
RECOMMENDED
That the bid for Objective 5b Technical Assistance for the post of Economics Project Officer for Lowestoft be endorsed, and that Suffolk County Council be thanked for their previous support for the post.
