V26-297 : REFORM OF EUROPEAN STRUCTURAL FUNDS

The report of the Chief Executive updated the reports brought to Sub-Committee on 21 January and 18 March 1998, regarding the future of European Funding for the UK under the Commission's reform of Structural Funds under their paper, Agenda 2000. It also highlighted issues that would impact on the UK, the Eastern region and Waveney and lobbying action to establish Waveney's designation under the new Objective 2.

RECOMMENDED

That the progress of preparing a case and lobbying on European Structural Funds be endorsed, and that a future report be presented to the Sub-Committee on developments.
