V26-288 : INSURANCE CONTRACT RENEWAL - 1 JULY 1998

The report of the Director of Central Services detailed the tendering exercise which had been carried out by Aon Risk Services Ltd, the Council's insurance brokers, for the Council's insurance services. The existing five year long term agreement with Zurich Municipal expired on 30 June 1998.

RECOMMENDED

1. That the Council accepts the tender of Zurich Municipal in the sum of £217,733.65.

2. That the tender be accepted on the basis of a three year long term agreement with an option exercisable by the Council to extend for a further two years.

3. That from the savings made an additional annual sum of £5,000 be added to the Risk Management Budget.
