V26-286 : ADVERTISING SITES - LONDON ROAD NORTH, LOWESTOFT
The report of the Director of Central Services considered the reinstatement of advertising sites in London Road North, Lowestoft, which were removed in 1995, as the advertising market for street furniture had improved.
The company Adshell were prepared to erect six new double sided poster units between British Homes Stores and the Post Office, replacing the trilateral and drum outside British Homes Stores, and would ensure maintenance to a high standard. The company would pay a rent of £1,800 per annum for six displays and the remaining six would be free for Council use.
RECOMMENDED
1. That six advertising sites in London Road North, Lowestoft, be leased to Adshell for nine years at £1,800 per annum with three year rent reviews, subject to six displays being made available for Council use and planning permission being obtained. 2. That the decision not to tender the advertising sites be approved as a departure of Standing Orders.
