V26-28 : W17014 - LAND ADJACENT TO 15 CLARENCE ROAD, LOWESTOFT

Application for construction of two dwellings.

The Director of Planning and Building Control reported that the above site contained 11 lock-up garages at the end of a cul-de-sac which it was proposed to replace with two four- bedroomed dwellings. Six objections had been received concerning loss of parking and additional parking arising from the new houses.

Although four bedroomed, the houses were actually quite cramped, with one bedroom being just over two metres square. The nearest neighbour was also concerned at possible loss of light.

The levels of parking and amenity space were below standard, and members were not prepared to make an exception in this case.

RESOLVED

That planning permission be refused to application W17014.
