V26-275 : LOCAL AUTHORITY FINANCIAL PROFILE AND KEY COMPARISONS REPORT
The report of the Director of Central Services showed the "key indicators" and "financial profile" issued to this authority by the Audit Commission. The Council's data was compared with a group of nearest neighbours considered to have similar characteristics to Waveney.
With the approach of Best Value there was an increasing interest in comparisons between local authorities as a measure of performance, and this data provided a useful starting point for further investigation.
RECOMMENDED
That the Financial Profile and Key Comparisons Report be utilised in connection with the current work on the preparation of Best Value generally.
