The report of the Director of Planning and Building Control considered the merits of the details of proposed housing at Parkhill, Lowestoft. The report concluded that the scheme was acceptable subject to minor modifications including reduction from 28 to 27 units, a better street scene through the changed angle of one house, and a hipped roof to one large unit to reduce the impact on its neighbour.

Members were concerned at possible danger to children from the new estate walking to Gunton Primary School, and the Director informed that the Highway Agency were in discussion with the Department of Transport concerning possible improvements.

RESOLVED

That planning permission be granted to application W6791/23, subject to appropriate conditions.
