V26-26 : LAND FRONTING SALTWATER WAY

BUSINESS PREMISES IN BRIDGE ROAD, OULTON BROAD

The report of the Director of Planning and Building Control concerned large signs at the rear of businesses in Bridge Road, Oulton Broad which had been placed following the opening of Saltwater Way in 1992. Official directional signs had now been in place for over three years, and the Director had written to all premises with the aim of agreeing reduction in size, but only one had replied.

The Director therefore recommended that action be taken to secure the removal of the larger signs, but that no action be taken in respect of the smaller, more discreet signs.

RESOLVED

1. That advertisement consent be refused to applications A/W391/2 and A/W749.

2. That the Chief Executive be authorised to take all pursuant action to secure the removal of the above unauthorised signs, together with those at 148 and 150 Bridge Road, Oulton Broad.

3. That no action be taken in respect of unauthorised signs at 132/134, 136 and 152 Bridge Road, Oulton Broad.
