V26-257 : STUDENT ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH OFFICER 1999/2000

The report of the Director of Housing and Environmental Services outlined the need to appoint a student Environmental Health Officer for the period July 1999 to September 2000, as part of the ongoing programme of sponsoring students for their professional training period.

Environmental Health Officers trained on a four year degree course, and had their third year gaining professional experience with a Local Authority. It was advantageous to target this position at students currently completing the first year of their degree course.

RECOMMENDED

That the Director of Housing and Environmental Services be authorised to appoint a student Environmental Health Officer on Scale 1/2 for the period July 1999 to September 2000.
