Application for side extension.

The Director of Planning and Building Control reported that this was a very large extension to a modest semi-detached cottage, contrary to Policy H21, and detrimental to the neighbour's amenities. The extension would be visible from the road and this enlargement of 70% would mean the character of the cottage would be lost, although a smaller extension may be possible. The Director recommended refusal. Members agreed with the Director's suggestion that a smaller extension may be possible.

RESOLVED

That the Director of Planning and Building Control be given delegated authority to grant planning permission to an amended application W16761/1, incorporating a smaller extension to a maximum 50% enlargement.
