V26-227 : W17069 - WAVENEY HOUSE, 56 EARSHAM STREET, BUNGAY
Application to erect wooden panelled fence.
W17069/1 - WAVENEY HOUSE, 56 EARSHAM STREET, BUNGAY
Application for listed building consent to erect wooden panelled fence. These two applications were considered together as they referred to the same site. The Director of Planning and Building Control reported that since the removal of a tree from the applicant's garden due to disease, they had suffered overlooking from the listed bridge adjacent to their garden. They wished to erect a fence similar to that in place on the far side of the stream, which had been there for many years, but the Director felt that a fence would be wholly inappropriate in this position and recommended refusal.
Members sympathised with the applicant, but were not minded to approve the application, and asked that Norfolk County Council be advised of the existence of the fence on the other side of the bridge.
RESOLVED
1. That planning permission and listed building consent be refused to applications W17069 and W17069/1 respectively.
2. That Norfolk County Council be advised of the existence of a fence on the Norfolk side of the listed bridge and requested to consider taking enforcement action. W7867/9 - 10 & 12 CHERRY HILL CLOSE, WORLINGHAM
Application for change of use from proposed footpath to domestic garden. The Director of Planning and Building Control reported that the footpath concerned was proposed when the estate was developed many years ago, but that the proposal was never carried out. There appeared to be no demand for the facility, and the recommendation of the Director was for approval.
RESOLVED
That planning permission be granted to application W7867/9.
