Application for conversion of former blacksmiths into residential unit.

The Director of Planning and Building Control reported that this property had been vacant for some years and was in a poor state of repair. The Director felt that although the proposal would make good use of the existing building, the site was inadequate and mutual overlooking would occur with nearby dwellings. He recommended refusal.

The Committee felt that, although the proposed application was not to be recommended, it should be possible to find some change of use for the building to improve the site, and requested that officers discuss these with the applicants. Members also requested a site meeting.

RESOLVED

That consideration of application W17041 be deferred for further negotiations with the applicant and for a site meeting.
