V26-2 : COMMUNICATIONS - CHIEF EXECUTIVE

(a) Community Services Study Tour

Members were informed that this year's Community Services Study Tour of projects being carried out by this department were scheduled for 12 June 1998.

(b) Council Nurseries Monkton Avenue

Members were invited to view the bedding plants which were scheduled to be planted throughout the district at the Nurseries over the next two weeks.

(c) Local Government Association

Members were informed that they would be receiving a copy of a letter from the Chairman of the Local Government Association which identified five commitments which local authorities should follow. The Chief Executive reminded members that the corporate strategy was in the process of being reviewed and it would therefore be premature to agree to these commitments until members had been given an opportunity to examine the contents of the corporate strategy and how that related to these commitments.
