V26-170 : SUNDRY IMPROVEMENTS - LAYBYS

The report of the Director of Housing and Environmental Services considered improvements to on-street car parking provision in the Council's housing sites, to be met from the budget of £100k included in the Housing Investment Programme 1998/99, and funded by the Capital Receipts Initiative.

The Director of Community Services had identified a number potential sites. One location for such work previously identified was Old Mill Cottages, Wangford Road, Westhall where a layby for six vehicles could be provided. Subject to there being no problems, Waveney Contract Services would commence work in June 1998.

Other sites identified for investigation in Lowestoft were Europa Road, Montgomery Avenue, Britten Road, Westhall Road, Spashett Road and Ashfield Crescent. Progress would be reported to future Housing Sub-Committee meetings.

RESOLVED

1. That the provision of a layby to Old Mill Cottages, Westhall be approved.

2. That further investigation of the sites identified by the Director of Community Services be approved, and progress reported to Housing Sub-Committee as part of the regular Housing Investment Programme review.
