V26-1479 : INCREASING VOTER PARTICIPATION WORKING PARTY

The report of the Chief Executive sought confirmation of his action to establish the above Working Party and appoint its membership, to enable a review of the present procedures for electoral registration and elections to increase voter participation in advance of the forthcoming elections in 1999.

RESOLVED

That the action of the Chief Executive, in consultation with the Leaders, in establishing an Increasing Voter Participation Working Party, and appointing Councillors Bee, Bostock, Chipperfield, Holzer, McGee and Robertson for 1998/99, be confirmed, and that attendance be authorised as an approved duty.
