V26-1457 : LOW PAY IN WAVENEY
The report of the Chief Executive considered the issue of the causes of low pay in the local economy, and examined what steps could be taken to address the problem nationally, regionally and locally.
RECOMMENDED
1. That the findings on Low Pay be considered in the work the Economic Development Unit is planning to undertake during the forthcoming year on key sectors in the local economy.
2. That the Council raise the issue of Low Pay within regional and county economic strategies.
3. That a report on the impact of the National Minimum wage on the local economy be presented to a future meeting of the Sub-Committee.
