V26-1456 : DRAFT WAVENEY ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY 1999/2000

The report of the Chief Executive provided a consultation draft of the Economic Development Strategy for 1999/2000 for members' comments and approval.

The Council was required under the provisions of the Local Government and Housing Act 1989 to update its strategy annually and also consult with the business community. A four week consultation period was provided for, culminating on 21 April 1999. Feedback received would be considered at the next Sub-Committee meeting.

RECOMMENDED

1. That the draft Waveney Economic Development Strategy of 1999/2000 be released for consultation with the business community and other relevant organisations.

2. That feedback from the exercise be considered by the Sub-Committee at its next meeting.
