V26-1430 : EQUALITY OF OPPORTUNITY IN EMPLOYMENT - RECRUITMENT MONITORING

The report of the Director of Central Services provided details of the 1998 Recruitment Monitoring Survey which enabled the Sub-Committee to monitor, evaluate and review the Council's approach to equality of opportunity, in accordance with the Council's Policy.

The report focused on monitoring the composition of job applicants, interviewees and those appointed for posts advertised externally by the Personnel Section in 1998. An exercise to show the composition of the workforce would shortly be repeated, and the findings would be reported to the Sub-Committee.

RECOMMENDED

That the findings of the 1998 Recruitment Monitoring Survey be noted and a further report on this subject be made to the Sub-Committee in 12 months.
