V26-1426 : THE OLD DAIRY, HUNGATE LANE, BECCLES
The report of the Director of Planning and Building Control concerned complaints received about an unauthorised car repair business which had commenced trading at the above premises.
The complainants alleged that the garage had no proper parking facilities, and that cars were parked in the congested area surrounding the site. Fumes and noise also affected the amenities of nearby residents.
An application to retain the use had been requested but none received to date. Although the site had a long history of commercial use as a dairy, a 1981 permission restricted the use to light industrial, which did not include vehicle repairs.
RESOLVED
That the Chief Executive be authorised to issue an Enforcement Notice and to take all pursuant action to secure the cessation of unauthorised car repairs at the Old Dairy, Hungate Lane, Beccles.
The meeting was concluded at 9.30 pm.
