V26-1420 : W13321/1 - ESPLANADE, LOWESTOFT
Application for erection of a 3.5 metre high sculpture of a lifeboatman. The report of the Director of Planning and Building Control reminded members that permission was granted for the above sculpture in Belle Vue Park at the meeting of the Committee in January of this year. It was now proposed to erect the sculpture in the raised planter located opposite the children's play area on the Esplanade. The applicant felt that would be a more appropriate site.
The revised location was acceptable in planning terms, and would not impede pedestrian movement. The Director recommended approval subject to detailed design of location and mounting pedestal.
RESOLVED
That for the purposes of paragraph 4(5) of the Town and Country Planning General Regulations 1976 planning permission be granted to application W13321/1, subject to detailed design of location and mounting pedestal.
