V26-1417 : W11016/8 AND /9 - THE ANGEL HOUSE, 5 BALLYGATE, BECCLES

Application for alterations and extensions to outbuildings, to create dwelling and listed building consent.

The report of the Director of Planning and Building Control advised that the above was a large terraced house with an archway leading from the street into a large courtyard. The buildings referred to were almost detached from the house, and stood facing it across the courtyard.

The proposal was tasteful and imaginative, and was to be welcomed as bringing life back into the buildings without trying to cram too much in. Before consent was given some fine tuning would be needed in that not all the elevations had been drawn, the garage facing the archway would be very visible and building regulation problems needed to be sorted out. The Director recommended approval, subject to the above points being finalised to his satisfaction.

RESOLVED

That the Director of Planning and Building Control be given delegated authority to grant planning permission and listed building consent to applications W11016/8 and W11016/9 respectively, subject to negotiation of outstanding matters.
