V26-1416 : W1535/19 - FIELD HOUSE NURSERY, BLYFORD ROAD, HOLTON

Application for removal of agricultural occupancy restriction, Condition No. 4 of W1535/2.

The report of the Director of Planning and Building Control advised the above nursery business had been discontinued, and the business had been put up for sale in 1997 at a price reflecting the agricultural restriction of the property. Little interest had been generated, and an ADAS report stated that there was unlikely to be a future need for an agricultural dwelling on the holding without an intensive livestock enterprise, which would require significant capital investment.

The Director therefore felt it had been demonstrated that Field House Nursery would not provide a sufficient profit margin to sustain the whole employment or income of an occupant as laid out in condition W1535/2. The submitted evidence had been reviewed by the Chief Executive, who was of the opinion that a convincing case for removal of the condition now existed. The Director therefore recommended approval.

RESOLVED

That planning permission be granted to application W1535/19.
