V26-1378 : PARTNERSHIP WITH LOWESTOFT COLLEGE

The report of the Director of Waveney Contract Services outlined an approach by Otley College, who were interested in establishing a local base for horticultural and agricultural training.

Discussions of a similar nature had been held with Lowestoft College in the latter part of 1997 and a planning application for a classroom was approved on 18 February 1998. A quotation was also supplied to the College for the services they required from the Department. Since that time little had been heard from the College and they had not responded to requests for an up to date position. It was proposed that discussions continue with Otley College, and if there were positive developments a further report would be brought to this Committee.

RESOLVED

That discussions continue with Otley College to establish a base for horticultural training.
