V26-1370 : ROMAN HILL ESTATE AGREEMENT

The report of the Director of Housing and Environmental Services provided a copy of the draft Roman Hill Estate Agreement for members' endorsement, which was discussed at minute V26-757. The Estate Agreement was a formal agreement reached between the Council and the Tenants' and Residents' Association to provide services and stipulate a service standard that could be expected. In this case, it was not expected that the publicised standards would exceed the standards provided elsewhere in the District.

Suffolk Constabulary wished to participate in the Agreement, but unfortunately this had not been provided to date, and had to be omitted from the draft. The Chief Executive would write to the Police expressing the Committee's disappointment that this had been the case.

Once the Roman Hill Estates' Agreement was operative, the Department would be entering discussions with the other Associations to set up similar Agreements.

RESOLVED

1. That the Roman Hill Estates Agreement, to become effective from 1 April 1999, be endorsed.

2. That a report be brought to Committee in six months time monitoring the progress of the Roman Hill Estates Agreement.
