V26-1364 : STREET TRADING
The report of the Director of Housing and Environmental Services detailed a revised scheme for the control of street trading, following a full review of street trading consents which was agreed at minute V26-166.
The review examined the fees for consents, types of street trading to be permitted and designation of prohibited streets, and endeavored to harmonise the objectives of the street trading Policy with the wider aims of the Council in promoting economic development and tourism.
RESOLVED
1. That the revised scheme for the control of street trading as detailed in the report of the Director of Housing and Environmental Services, and including the following, be agreed in principle, subject to formal consultation with Town/Parish Councils, current licence holders, relevant statutory bodies and other interested parties:
(a) the designation of "Licence Streets" and "Prohibited Streets" as set out in the accompanying schedules;
(b) the designation of all other "Streets" in the Waveney District as "Consent Streets"; (c) the standard conditions to be appended to "Consents" and "Licences", to be effective from the date of commencement of the revised scheme;
(d) the scale of fees, to be effective from the date of commencement of any revised scheme.
2. That following these consultations a report be presented at the earliest meeting of this Committee providing a revised scheme for adoption as Council Policy.
