V26-1343 : SPECIAL NEEDS GRASS CUTTING SCHEME 1999
The report of the Director of Housing and Environmental Services reminded members that the Special Needs Grass Cutting Scheme had been in operation since 1991. The service was restricted to those tenants' who were elderly and/or physically disabled, who had no family or friends in the area to help them; and those not in sheltered accommodation. Although the service was restricted to cutting the front grass, help was given for back gardens to tidy areas identified as causing management problems. The service was valued by those receiving it, and contributed to the standard of the estates. RESOLVED
1. That the Special Needs Grass Cutting Scheme be continued for 1999, with £6,000 allocated to purchase services for the scheme from Waveney Contract Services. *Commitment of Forward Budget.
2. That the service be restricted to front gardens, and any under spend of the budget be utilised to tidy areas identified as causing management problems.
