V26-1337 : DIFFICULT TO LET HOUSING
The report of the Director of Housing and Environmental Services gave details of Difficult-to- Let housing schemes that were under consideration by the Council's Project Appraisal Team, and were visited by members of Housing Sub-Committee in early February 1999. The report made prioritised recommendations as to the preferred option for each scheme, subject to financial appraisal by the Project Appraisal Team. On approval, the Chairman expressed the wish of members that the issues be given urgent attention in the near future. RESOLVED
1. That an approach be made to Lowestoft College if they are interested in Caxton Court, Lowestoft, for student accommodation.
2. That Whitton Court, Lowestoft, be converted to a mixture of one and two bedroom flats, with the ground floor flats having exterior access instead of corridor access. 3. That at Coppice Court, Lowestoft, the single storey wing be retained and the bedsits converted to two bedroom bungalows with external access; the two storey wing be demolished and redeveloped with a mixture of one and two bedroom bungalows. 4. That Constable House/Wolsey House, Beccles, be demolished and the sites re-developed with family housing.
5. That further discussion be held with Suffolk County Council on the possible re- modelling of St Margarets Court, Reydon, at least in part to a Very Sheltered Housing scheme.
